For each photograph there is a corresponding needlepoint
that is being created. The idea is that
as the series grows, so do the needlepoint panels that will ultimately form a quilt.
The needlepoint idea is inspired by my
great-grandmother. When my grandmother
passed away my mom started to take care of her grandmother my
great-grandmother. Every morning she
would wake up and needlepoint. It was the one thing that made her very happy and is
something that I will always remember.
In honor of an amazing woman, I have decided to incorporate this element
into the series. In a way, I also feel close to my great-grandmother as I create the quilt.
